id Software is set to release Doom: The Dark Ages, a prequel to the 2016 Doom reboot, transporting players to a medieval-inspired setting. Departing from the fast-paced, acrobatic combat of its predecessors, this installment emphasizes a heavier, more grounded combat experience. Players will wield medieval-themed weapons like the Skull Crusher and Shield Saw, and pilot vehicles such as a cybernetic dragon and a 30-story Atlan mech. The game introduces the Cosmic Realm, a Lovecraftian dimension allied with Hell, featuring new enemies and the Reaver Chainshot weapon. Doom: The Dark Ages will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
